ok im wanting to try the WASC cake tonight, however the only white flour i have is selfrising, but i do have whole wheat AP, how bad would the WholeWheat mess up the cake????

I may be too late but don't make it with the self rising flour since it already has the chemical leveners in it (baking powder and baking soda) If you are using the wheat AP flour it needs to be 50% wheat and 50% regular AP flour. Honestly, if it's your first time making it I would hold off till you can get to the store to buy some AP, just so a variation of it won't turn you off completely from the cake.

I accidentally used self rising flour once in sugar cookies and they were so terrible! They tasted like salt cookies, not sugar cookies!
