I have a new Kitchenaid Mixer, and I can't make a pound cake using it. I have been using a Sunbeam Mixmaster with great results, but with the Kitchaid, I have sad streaks PLUS the cake doesn't rise llike it should. Any suggestions? I have been using the instructions provided with the mixer, with very poor results.

Not sure - I make a family recipe pound cake with my kitchen aid . . . had a little adjustment at first (learning I didn't have to beat it as long). The key to me is beating a lot for the butter/sugar/eggs, then as little as possible at a low speed for the dry ingredients. also - make sure your baking powder is fresh.
