For the money, I like Pettinice by Bakels, it's what I usually use for base covering. Satin Ice is great too and their colors are definately worth it! I keep a few buckets of it around for things like black and purple that can be a pain!

I started out using the wilton brand fondant. It was convenient (5 minutes from my house). HOWEVER, I just used Satin Ice for the first time, for my son's b-day cake. I will never go back! It is nice and soft and pliable and people actually ate it!! ![]()

Until I really learned how to work with fondant, I used the Wilton kind. Not to eat or to actually put on cakes I've made for people except for one I covered a walrus with it, but just to practice.
I have just used Satin Ice for the first time this past week. I used it to make a barn roof, and farm animals I had to deliver today. I can absolutely recommend this brand.
I also hear that Fondex isn't too bad either. I haven't been able to make my own yet, that is next.![]()
Massa Grischuna is my favorite, but I also like and use Pettinice. ![]()
