Is it just me or is it impossible to find champaign extract at the store. I have only seen it on amazon.com. However, I would hate to pay shipping and handling for a $2 bottle of extract when I am not sure I will like it.

I have been looking for it ever since Sandra Lee used it on a wedding cake on Food Network. (I think it was in June.) She mentioned going to your local craft store. However, neither Micheals nor AC Moore had it last time I checked.

Are there any substitutes I can use?

What city do you live in? Maybe someone knows of a cake supply store near you. That's how I found out about a store about 20 miles from me. I make a pilgrimage to stock up. You probably need to find a specialty store like that to get all the different extracts.

My cake supply guy here keeps it in stock with the Loranns. POWERFUL STUFF!

Resist the urge to use more than a couple drops! icon_smile.gif

If you want me to, I can mail you a bottle. It only costs like a buck to mail one! icon_cool.gif

our local cake supply store carries it - do you have any of those near you? Also if you've ever heard of Meijer's grocery store - they've started stocking some Lorann flavors - you could ask them if they would order it.... right now I know they've got strawberry, raspberry, cherry, lemon, orange, lime, peppermint, spearamint, and maybe some others- I think they're mostly used for candies in some of those flavors but who knows what you could come up with! icon_smile.gif
