Thankfully, no one bought this cake. Its for my daughters birthday family party. This is by far the worst cake ever. I hate it.
My fondant is sweating, my royal icing wont harden.....I HATE Florida humidity. Even with my air conditioning set at 70*, Im still having issues.

I hear ya on the Florida humidity, but from here the cake doesn't look bad at all!! In any case, your daughter will have a cake made with love by mommy and you know it will taste good!!!

Your cake doesn't look bad at all, I can see where it is sweating. I am having the same trouble, Texas heat and humidity!! Did you try putting a fan on it? I have had a gumpaste figure made for a week and it still isn't dry, the fan did help keep the moisture down. I think your daughter will still love the cake, even if you don't.

I know just how you feel. I've had to re-make a bow three times this week because of the horrible Texas humidity. This morning, my icing was literally melting off my cake icon_sad.gif .

Have you thought about investing in a portable dehumidifier? We live in Mississippi and we use ours to keep the mildew under control.

Here's another one that lives in and hates Florida humidity...actually, I'm not crazy about the weather in general. You can keep the heat. LOL. But honestly, that cake looks great. No need to stress.

I love your pikachu. He's so cute. You did a great job. I did one for my grandson's birthday this weekend too but it sure doesn't look as good as yours does.

as long as it tastes good to all the kids, they won't care and i am sure that all the adults couldn't even come close to making a cake that looks as good as that. Don't be so hard on yourself, i think it looks fine.
weather can be a pain in the butt sometimes.... icon_mad.gif

Oh thanks guys!
I keep thinking it looks like he has a mustache from the royal icing melting away, haha!

I dont have a fan or a dehumidifier. I am definitely going to look into that!
