General question: Do most people prefer using/working with MMF over regular fondant? What do the brides prefer? I haven't used MMF yet, but I would think that it would taste much better than regular fondant. Any suggestions for making regular fondant taste better?

I am curious too about MMF. Do you use it just like regular fondant? As in, do you roll it and shape it just like regular findant?
Thanks

Hi,
I only use MMF, on all my cakes and flowers etc....
Taste is the big difference. I make my own MMF since I learned how to use it. I love MMF. I'm not in the business, so I really do not deal with
brides or people like that. I give away my cakes as presents.. icon_smile.gif

you do use it just like regular fondant and it tastes a lot better ... I compare it to the taste of those orange circus peanuts.

The only fondant cake I did was for my course 3 final. It is in my pictures. This was long before I new about MMF. I hated the taste so I flavored it using the flavoring oils in the small bottles. The white is flavored with cheesecake flavoring as is the top layer of cake. For the pink, I used rasberry flavoring which colored it naturally so I didn't have to. For the filling and crumb layer, I used BC icing. It tasted better but I still didn't care for it...my mom loved it. I have some fondant decorations to make for a cake next weekend and I plan on making the MMF.

Does the mmf get hard like the regular fondant? I don't see how people like to eat something this hard on their cake. I guess I should first ask is it supposed to be hard? I have only used it once and the layer covering the cake was somewhat soft but the decorations were very hard. I don't really like my cake crunchy.
