Sorry to ask this question again. I just finished a wedding cake and it has a fondant/gumpaste bow on the top. the cake is iced in buttercream and what I need to know is would it be ok to put the cake in the frig or will this make my bow go droopy? The cake won't be delivered to the hall until about 4:00 and I just don't know what to do with it. Right now it is sitting on my table but I thought if the icing had a chance to firm up it might be easier for transporting. Also, whether it is in the frig or on the table, does it need to be covered up so it doesn't dry out?

Any advice would be greatley appreciated. I don't know what to do! icon_cry.gif

is this your personal fridge? if so i say keep it on the table. you don't want weird fridge smells to get into the cake (garlic, onion, last nights pizza). and BC will absorb smells. unless of course you have a perishable filling, (real mousse, cream cheese). then it has to go in the fridge, and i would clean it out first. i keep all my cakes on teh table, ready for transport. if you feel its really dusty, you can cover it, but i never do. well, i cover it when it sits over night, but not after its assembled and im ready to drive it somewhere. make sure you cool down your car first, drive it around for 10 minutes or so, get the AC blasting, then move your cake straight to the car. hope this helps!
