I really wanted to try one of those pirouette cakes, so at the market today I checked out the price of the cookies. Then, at the end of the aisle, I see a tub of pretzel rods......

hhhmmmmm...I start thinking....what if I made a chocolate cake with a peanut butter filling and put pretzel rods all around the outside. And served with vanilla ice cream (a must)!

Please tell me why you think this would be great or awful.....

sounds like that ben & jerry's ice cream flavor ... chubby hubby is it called? I think it's worth a shot.

Maybe dip the pretzel rods in chocolate? What about peanut butter ice cream inside? mmm

I love salty and sweet together, I think it sounds great with the pbutter and chocolate. You'll never know until you try. I like the idea of chocolate dipping them, or maybe just tipping them. Let us know how it turns out!

I'm drooling. Pretzels get soggy pretty quickly so I would probably dip them in something like chocolate first.

Good advice...thanks! I was thinking it would taste like a chocolate covered pretzel anyway, so dipping would work out well.

Chocolate, pretzels, and pb?! Oooooo yeah! thumbs_up.gif Sounds so good to me! Throw caramel in the filling...... oooooooo. icon_biggrin.gif

Wanna kick it up a notch (lol)? I think I remember Target selling "gourmet" pretzel rods under their Archer Farms brand. I try to avoid the snack isle as much as possible, trying to loose weight, but I remember being tempted by some that were pb filled and dipped in chocolate.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go find a fork.... icon_lol.gif

A co-worker made brownies with broken pretzels in them instead of nuts - very yummy.
Go for it.
