i'm making a white cake w/almond filling...only ? what would be good to frost it with...i was thinking an almond like frosting...but that may be overkill...
i'm also putting almond slivers on the top...

I think almond icing should be fine. Your cake isn't almond, so I don't think it would be overkill!
