Anyone know anywhere to get nordicware cake pans at a reasonable price? I really like the stadium cake. It's $35 too icon_smile.gif

Unfortunately, the only time I've found them for less is on ebay or clearance seasonal stuff at Williams-Sonoma. Good luck! I love those pans too, have quite a collection. But there's several I still want.

I too have several of the pans.My favorite is the christmas wreath...I also have the rose and christmas tree new from last year.I have bought my mom several also.I have seen them for as low as $14.95 on ebay but some have also sold for as high as $60.00 for the wreath pan at Christmas time.It is discontinued.

I paid something like $25 for mine at our local gourmet shop. They have 20% off everything after 5 on Friday.

For those of you with Nordic ware...how do you ice them? Do you just use a glaze? Thanks for your help, didn't mean to hijack this thread!

It depends on the pan. I use my rose cupcake pan for molten chocolate cake and muffins ( no icing needed) But If I want color, I have used a poured fondant and then decorated over that.

does anyone know how they compare to the similar-looking Wilton pans? I just got a Wilton one with my 50% Off Labor Day Coupon from Michaels. Been oogling over the Nordic Ware ones forever but just couldn't justify the money, being that I'd never owned a plain bunt cake pan before!

Are the Wilton ones comprable or more like a cheap knock-off?

I don't know if you have a Marshall's or a TJ Maxx near you, but I've seen them there as low as $15.

HTH!

Michael's doesn't carry Nordicware, and yes, wilton pans are poor in quality compared to nordicware, but for some things, like character pans, it doesn't really matter, since they don't get a lot of daily use.

anyone know how many people this cake feeds? I thought that it said it held up to 9 cups of batter.

A 9x2 cake pan holds about 1 2/3 cups batter, so it's the same as about 5 9 inch layers.

picture doesn't make it seem like that much cake. I figured it was probably similar to about a 1/2 sheet. Wouldn't be that far off it seems.
