Does MMF get moldy?? I know i have read here that it will last a long time. I had some leftover up in my cupboard and I got it out yesterday to inspect it, might have been a month or 2 old, but it had a fuzzy spot on it. I guess mold, but it looked more white than green. Anyway I didnt have it wrapped up that well, it was in plastic wrap, but I did a half a$$ job sealing it up. Maybe that was the problem. Just wondering.

I have kept left over for at least a month or 2 and it has been fine. The only thing I have found is that if I have small amounts left over, they seem to get a little crusty on the outside, so I throw them away, but if I have a larger block of it, that seems to keep fine.

I have found that even if it is crusty, it's nothing a few seconds in the microwave and some crisco can't fix. I accidentally left my MMF out for a whole day before I realized it wasn't sealed. I microwaved it for 5-10 seconds, and kneaded it with my Crisco'ed hands. You might have to repeat that process a few times. Be sure to keep your hands greasy! Works like a charm! HTH

It's possible it may have gotten "something else" on it without your knowing it before you put it in storage. Maybe some BC frosting or something that does go bad, or mold? Just a thought! icon_confused.gif
