Support For Three 3 2" Layers

I need to stack three 10" square 2" high cakes - I'll be covering in buttercream.

Would you use cake boards under one or both of the top two layers?

I would stick it under each layer just to be on the safe side.......I think some people even just stack all three.....but I'd be too scared personally I'm not that experienced with all the stacking!

I would also stick a cake board inbetween each layer. You could put 4 dowels inbetween each teir for added support so the endges don't fall down and then I would sharpen the end of a longer dowel and put it right through the middle of all three. Just make sure your dowels are not higher then the cake and leave a little room for settling.

I have stacked 3 with no support but generally I agree a support under each is likely a better Idea
