Any fans of the Law and Order franchise out there? Which ones your fave, who's your fave detective? Or am I the only one who has been in deprivation mode all summer 
September 19 season premiere for CI and SVU (and they'll be running back to back YAY, get my addiction all worked out in one night LOL)
Ok ok so if you asked anyone who knows me they'd try and convince you it was this 'tiny' thing I have for CI star Vincent D'Onofrio- but I love the show period- and that's my story and I'm stickin to it. LOL (barring nobody comes over and sees my Vincent movie collection LMAO) but if it were just about him, I'd not watch the other 2 lol
Ok so which is your fave? And any pet peeves about any of the shows/storylines?
Going to be some new faces this season- I'm dying to know how they all fit together with the old crew! Julianne Nicholson is going to team up on CI with Noth. Cant wait to see that- I've seen her on Conviction and like her (first saw her stellar performance in the movie Tully, which I own now). Not familiar with the new captain played by Eric Bogosian. Sad to see Jamey Sheridan gone - I really liked him.
As for SVU- sad to see Hargitay take mat leave- but we'll see how the oh so gorgeous Meloni gets on with his new partner.
Thank God for TNT, Bravo, and USA showing all the Law and Order reruns or I would have died from withdrawal.
I can hardly wait for the new season. No one could be as good as Olivia and Elliot together but we'll see what happens.
L & O isn't the only show I'm looking forward to. I'm hooked on ER even worse. Then there's the Desperate Housewives.........

I was so mad when they started splitting the season with Chris Noth ( I really don't like him.) so I was watching every other CI... I can't get enough of the repeats though..... there is just something about him that is so sexy....

Yes I've seen all teh reruns and probably could have seen them twice or three times over this summer but I turned cable TV off for the summer- and have most of his movies anyway when I need a fix LOL
and will continue to watch movies every other week when Noth and Sciorra stand in GRRR I hate that he's tapering off.

I have to say that CI is my absolute favorite, however, I don't like Chris Noth. I didn't like him in the original and I sure don't like him now!
My favorite character, however, is Lenny Briscoe (RIP!).... loved Jerry Orbach.
Has anyone noticed how shakey Sam Waterston has become as of late? Is that old age or an illness?
I've just started watching the first 2 seasons of the original Law and Order. It's not bad, but not my absolute favorite show. I just love Netflix, I can rent all the DVDs and not have to wait for them to come on TV.
The original used to be my fave. Loved Jerry Orbach! He was GREAT! But within the last year, I've switched to SVU. I love the chemistry within all the characters. And Benson and Stabler are my absolute favorite - but only when they are together. If there is an episode with only one of them, I don't enjoy it as much.

Totally agree. I watched the rerun last night where she told him she wanted a new partner. I cried the first time I watched it and cried again this time. 
Debsuewoo, I agree about Sam Waterson. Don't know what is wrong. I love his character also.

oh yeah last year I was on a diff schedule lol- when I got home I'd watch CI reruns at 5 every day and SVU reruns at 7. And then the new episodes during primetime ) I think I'll try and control myself starting next week.
I did shut off my cable all summer-too busy. Ah well I have a stack of Vincent movies when I need a fix lmao and then the 100 pics of him rotating on my desktop =)) (>>>>sick woman LOL)

My best friend and I kept the phone lines hot during commercials. Both shows had me puzzled. I was screaming when Elliot got hurt. Called my girlfriend and told her I'd never watch another L & O if they killed him off. At least we know now how they are going to explain Olivia's maternity leave.
So sad.........Mariska's father died today. I can barely remember when he was Mr. Universe. I think I was about 6 yrs old.

Reviving an old topic.........What does everyone think of the three Law and Order shows so far this year? I think I like the new characters but haven't decided for sure.
SVU is not the same without Olivia. Wonder how long she will be out? The new gal's character is definitely different that Olivia's. Wonder if she will be phased out once Olivia comes back?

I only watch SVU. and I LOVE Olivia.
I'm not happy with the new chick, she just doesn't mesh well with the rest of the crew, IMHO.

But for those of you V D'onofrio fans - my favorite movie with him is "Whole Wide World" - the one with Rene Zellwegger (the one about the author who wrote the Conan the Barbarian books). That character is so him!

MY GUESS TO THIS --2 sets of detective & just 1 show--instead of having this in 1 show, like the others (sometimes) they do them separately--also a new girl w/Noth too--
