Hello all,
I'm new to the board and have a lot of question.
My first question is does anyone have a great tasting sugar cookie?
What supplies should I start with? Where to order?
And are there any books that I can buy to help me learn to bake and decorate cookies?

TIA

Hi and Welcome, candae. icon_smile.gif

Here's a comprehensive thread on making a cookie-bouquet:

(However, it also contains a tutorial on making & decorating cookies, different cookie recipes, different frosting & glazes and more.)

Here's a handy list of CC acronyms:

I'm new too and trying tons of stuff I'm finding in the recipe section of CC. I just made the No Fail Sugar Cookies today and I have to tell you they turned out great. I think they taste really good - even better once frosted. They're definitely worth a try to see what you think.

i love toba garrett's creative cookie book. autumn carpenter has several great books also.
i think some necessary supplies are decorator bags. couplers, small tips, and the wonderful squeeze bottles. i probably also go thru about a million toothpicks a day...

I'm intrigued. What squeeze bottles do you use and for what? Sorry if that's like a decorating no-brainer but I've never heard of them before. icon_redface.gif

Penny's recipe is also very popular, easy to work with and hardly spread during baking: http://forum.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-3993-Pennys-cookies.html

Aha. Great idea. I'm definitely going to try that. Sounds like it's less messy!
