I'm planning a surprise 55th birthday party for my eldest sister, need theme and cake idea. Her profile would read: big heart, people pleaser, that still has a little rock and rolling left in her if she would send the grand kids home, she's a widow at a young age and I just think it time to throw her a over the top party.

What about a tiered cake - with coordinating colors. One layer with people in matching t-shirts, one layer with album covers or music notes, one layer with hearts. If you use colors that coordinate they will all go well together. OR - a cake with people dancing, put music lyrics or a jukebox by them.
I love the idea of people in matching t-shirts, maybe people at the party could have t-shirts on the match the cake people. Or even just he grandkids.
