my fondant sweats if i take the cake out of the refrigerator and it is very hot outside. it does sweat for few hours and then it is dries out again. i think the reason is that the cake is cold and outside is warm. it will sweat til the cake inside will reach a certain temperature.

When I make my figurines during raining day, I've the same problem. It refuses to dry and will sweat like yours. However, those that already dried hard are ok eventho' it's wet weather (the place where I live is very humid).

I've yet to find a solution to my problem tho, hope I can overcome it soon.

Thanks Wendoger thumbs_up.gif
Queenamy, I agree about this particular cake-that was the only thing that kept me from freakin' out!!!!!!! icon_lol.gif

Thanks for the input-I did only make them(hot dogs and hamburgers) the night before.... they definately weren't dried out yet and it was very humid-that must be it. thumbs_up.gif

I live in hawaii and all my cakes buttercream or fondant sweat. I see a lot of comments on here about it, but I don't think it's a big deal. I've never had my colors run it just looks like it has dew on it, and nobody but me has every noticed or said anything about it. I really think we're the only ones that look that closely.

Hi,
Don't get me wrong please, but immediate I saw the cake I wanted to say "silly question, it is sweating due to the heat from the grill" and after reading the others comments I should say that it looks wonderful and got that shiny effect which I get only by applying confectioners glaze.

I fully agree with Sarah Jane, if somebody even point it out to you it must be a woman and she is envious.

I have seen someone adviced to take a torn piece of kitchen towel and let the torn edge absorb the sweat drops. I would not do that.

Your cake is great. Be happy. niki
