Hi I made some sugar cookies and royal icing on the 8/23/06 and stored the left over RI in a airtight container and placed in cabinet. So it is a week old. I want to bake some more cookies and use this icing. Is it still good and how long do I need to beat it or mix it before decorating?

Wilton suggests storing in airtight grease-free container at room temperature. Lasts 2 weeks.

I keep my meringue-powder royal icing for three weeks. It just needs to be stirred up real well before using it again.
