Our 19 year old son works in a bakery. He the donut and roll baker. They have decided he needs to learn how to decorate cakes! So I am making a cake yesterday and he pipes in with his .2 cents worth. Well to my surprise, he is terrific! I was so impressed with his rose I just have to show you. Mind you he just learned one time yesterday. He was wondering if we could have a cake business together! Oh yeah......just wonder who would do all the baking and CLEANING! LOL

The center is not the "wilton" method, so I'm wondering if he made the little pyramid thing in the center or if he did the whole thing with a petal tip. I'm curious how he formed it. Did you watch?

He did it so quick but, I think the center was a half circle type thing. Yes he did use a pedal tip for the whole thing. I want him to show me slower next time. I like the look of this rose. I also like the wilton look. Just may be something a little different to use.

It's kinda funny because he is quite a typical young man. He is really into cars, sports and cards. He has always had a thing for cooking though. Not that he does a lot of it but..... I would love to see him get into it maybe as a side job with me.
Thanks for all the kind words, I am proud of him too.

My roses still don't look that good. It would be great if he started decorating cakes with you. My mother and I do cakes together and I love the time I get to spend with her.
