Hi....just got my edible image set-up going last week. I purchase the entire unit/supplies from Icing Images. Could have saved money by searching for a printer ...but got lazy. My printer is a 4-tank. I am a photographer and have a 6-tank printer but after doing my research, decided that this was overkill for the EI printing...and am very pleased with my choice AND the quality of the prints I'm getting from it. Check out my photos. There are three cakes in there that I did this week with images. My printer is the Canon i3000. A somewhat basic and discontinued model. Don't know how far the inks go, but refilling is the way to go. Not difficult, and WWAAAAAYYYYY cost effictive.

You'll love the EI printing~ I'm having fun with it!

There are two types if printable sheets.....they serve totally different purposes. See the three tutorials that Lisa submitted on this site. Very informative.

I got my edible image printer from ebay. The printer came with the icing sheets, ink cartridges, etc. When I received it in the mail I realized that it was from icingimages.com (listed on the attached label). I guess they were trying to get rid of the discontinued ones. When I need to restock the ink and icing sheets, I buy them from icingimages.com.

I have the i960 which is the 6 cartridge printer. I bought my system from www.icingimages.com and buy all my supplies from them as well. I honestly don't know how many prints I get from mine, I buy the refill ink and just refill each cartridge as needed.

I got my printer off of E-bay and bought the inks and frosting sheets at Kopy Kake. Got set up for less than $175.00. Also, Kopy Kake has ink cartridges for Epson printers (which I have). I rather like my system.

I have a Canon IP3000 (4 cartridges) and get my supplies from Kopy Kake. I also have the refillable inks and those work great when I find myself all of the sudden out of ink. The amount of prints you will get with each set of cartridges is really dependant on what you print. I find that I tend to ge through red a lot because of my printer settings. (But I need them the way that I have them set up). You definitely do not need a top of the line printer to do edible images, just like Phoov, said. incing sheets are not created equal as well, some supplies have a rice paper type style and those don't melt into your cake like actual icing sheets. KK has the icing sheets and I really like those.

I bought my Epson printer from Office Max. It has 4 ink tanks. I order my frosting sheets from Kopykake as well as the ink refills. I'm not sure how may prints I get with the ink because I too just periodically refill them. I think it depends alot on the type of images you are printing.
