Maybe I just got lucky - I don't know!

I've been reading all of the posts about the problems with the Duncan Hines mixes and the new 0 Trans Fat Crisco. I was really nervous about a birthday cake for a co-worker due tomorrow. Well, I'm happy to report that I didn't have any problems and everything went off without a hitch.

I used DH Butter Recipe Golden and mixed it using 1 cup sour cream, 4 eggs and 1/4 cup oil instead of the directions on the box (I've been doing this for years). I made chocolate buttercream using cocoa powder and I used a praline filling. I topped the cake with chocolate ganache let some drip down the sides. So far so good. The buttercream crusted like it always has in the past. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because next time everything may go to he$$ in a hand basket icon_lol.gif

Glad things worked for you. I have't had to use the new Crisco yet, so I don't know what my luck will be like! ( I bought all of the old Crisco at my local store)
