Does anyone have any good recipes that do not require refrigeration - at least for a couple days?

TIA

Same here, I'm watching this thread, just in case.

I was wondering, though.. Has anyone tried putting the Lorann flavoring oils in buttercream to see how it tastes? I'm sure it wouldn't take much, they're rather potent, and I know it can be used to flavor marshmallow fondant, but I've never tried it in buttercream.

Hrm.. I might just have to go make some now, just so I can try it..

If it does work, then it wouldn't have to be refrigerated.. or were you more interested in a custard type filling?

To respond to Hollyanna70's comment about Lorann's oils in buttercream, I do it quite frequently and personnally like the results. I add just a few drops at a time (usually the first few drops when creaming the butter/crisco) then add more while adding PS if I feel it needs it. Don't add too much else you'll smell the cake a mile away!

Thanks snowshoe1!

I'm glad to know it works well, because it's definitely a good alternative for those times when you just absolutely can't refrigerate, but still want the flavor.

I'll be happy when I get to try all the things I'm learning on here. September just can not get here fast enough.. hehe
