My brother in law has asked me to do the cake for my sisters 50th surprise birthday party. Here's the problem. He wants me to make a cake that looks like a case of bud light bear (my sister loves the stuff). Here's my idea (and problem) - I'm going to cover the cake in fondant and I think the way to duplicate the detailed artwork is to do an edible image transfer of a real case of beer. It's pretty detailed and I don't know how to capture all the detail needed to make it look real. How do you do these transfers? I've never done these before and have no idea where to even start.
Any suggestions or other ideas? Being the cake is for my sister - of course I want it to be perfect. Thanks for any help.

1) you need to own or have access to an edible image printer --- warning: as the art work on the case is copyrighted, most commercial establishements (like local grocery stores/bakeries) WON'T print this kind of image for you

2) you need a good digital camera or reg. film camera and then get digital version of pics.

3) take pics -- one of each side of case -- use really good lighting for best reproduction

4) process pics in photo editing software of choice so just get side and no background.

5) save pics as a JPG file using BEST quality (100% quality or NO compression).

6) use layout software you prefer (i use MS Publisher) and import JPG

7) scale it to size that will fit on frosting sheet and will be correct for cake

icon_cool.gif print it.

-------
depending upon size of cake, you may have to tile two or more printouts to get one full side of case.

better to scale down cake to size that LONGEST side of cake will only need one frosting sheet (about 10 inches).
