I think that Mickey ears on the side would work. We went to Disney world this summer and they had hidden "Mickeys" everywhere. Perhaps you could do some scroll work on the sides and slip in a few hidden Mickeys. Then perhaps you could alternate on the next tier you could do stars, like he had on his hat in fantasia - socerers apprentice portion, with the top tier having hidden mickeys. Or gloves maybe you could find a picture of Mickeys gloves and mix that in with the stars. Sorry I am a bit of a Disney nut. I hope that I have helped. If you are using Fondant you could inlay the stars and gloves. Just a thought, if I can be of help, just PM me.

JMHO, but I would definitely insist on clear instructions from her. Most of the posts regarding brides who are last minute and don't give specifics are followed up with horror stories of them complaining and wanting refunds and such....

I think the white on white idea of the ears on the side is very cool and since she is having MM on the top, I would guess she is going for more of a whimsical approach but I would still confirm with her first icon_smile.gif

bakedandiced, I love your idea. Confectionaryperfection: I would suggest, same as cakediva that WHATEVER you decide on you run it by her to make sure it is fine. Agree with all the horror stories. Would like for you to avoid them at all cost!

I say keep it simple, flat ice the cakes and put on a nice bead border.

take cue for Disney theme song???

when you wish upon a star....

your dreams come true!

adapt theme to:

WHEN I WISHED UPON A STAR,
MY DREAM CAME TRUE IN YOU!

write it on side of cake and hit w/ gold or silver luster dust.

add stars and the hidden mickey and of course a very liberal sprinkling of "fairy" dust (aka pearl or disco) all over the cake!

Confectionaryperfectionism, I also had a Mickey Mouse cake topper for my wedding cake. I did not make it, but if you would like me to send you a pic of it I would be happy to do so. It was also white on white, tiered and with a fountain. Just let me know.
