ahh i have 2 wedding cakes coming up that have a fresh flower bouquet as the topper. i just did a wedding cake a couple of weeks ago that had one and i went to our local florist and i asked her what they usually do for cake toppers and she made me one from the lid of a spraypaint can! well when i picked it up was like wow! how smart! but then when igot it home and put it on the cake i releized you could see the lid becuase the flowers didnt cover the bottom! so my next cake needs red roses as the topper. i was wonder if anyone had any idea about how to do this! like i no to put wax paper under it but what should i arrange the flowers in? or ahh i dont no HELP!
You can pretty much use any small container(dark green works best).
You just need to use the greenery to cover up your mechanics. When you put the floral foam leave at least a quarter inch above the rim of the container. That way you can place the greenery stems in diagonally making the greenery point downwards to hide the container.
You also could use a glass candle votive. Place a complimentary color of cellophane in the container before the floral foam.
Here is a good option... http://www.afloral.com/Floral-Supplies/Candle-Holders/DESIGNWORKS-ODAPTER-Holder
