Would someone please give me some idea on how to make froth for a cake in icing or some other edible substance. Froth like what comes out of a bottle of champagne. I have an engagement cake to do and they want a bottle of Champagne with froth coming out of it.

Thanks in Advance.

I've seen some swimming pool pictures in the photo gallery where the "water" looks frothy. Do a search, and if you find one that looks like what you want, you can pm the person to ask how they did it.

If that doesn't help, at least here's a bump for you!

I have had a look at a few pictures as that is all I can look at but from what I saw none looked like froth to me.

Have you thought about whipping up some meringue and shaping it how you want? That's all I can think of icon_smile.gif

You could use a soft BC and swirl it, or a whipped icing and do the same.

I was more thinking of maybe sugar to get the effect at least that is closer to the texture that I am trying to make.

For a frothy look, I think Meringue is the closest thing to frothy. I've seen champagne bottles made, but giant fondant pearls were used for bubbles. I haven't seen one with froth yet. Meringue just a few minutes just after you start whipping it looks just like froth. But will it stay that way on the cake...hmmm...that's a tough one!
