Is there any way to clean cake plates that are discolred (you know, the yellow yukky stuff). I have tried bleach already.
Thanks

You can use the spray paint to paint them. That is what I did to my tall tier set that I brought off ebay at a good price.

Just make sure that you use the primer first and spray very lightly and let dry about 15 mins. and then use the main color to cover. Look for the paint that says non-toxic when dry.

I sprayed the whole set so that they would all have the same look.

I let my set air dry for over three weeks before using.

I JUST recently read on the Wilton sight boards about yellowing pillars being left out in the sun for a few days to brighten them. It didnt say anything about the plates though. Newbie myself and trying to take in as much information as possible.

Thanks so much. I have tried every cleaner in my house and nothing will help. I'll try the sun and let ya know if it works. If not I'll use the paint. It happens to be the tall tier set (bought at a garage sale) I'm trying to clean.

Yes, let us know how it works out!! I have an older scalloped plate, about 25 years old, that I would love to refurbish! It's rather large, about 16 or 18" I believe, and I just don't use it anymore because it really looks yellow with a white cake sitting on it!!
