Any suggestions out there to figure out how to go about making a white gravel road on the cake? I don't want to do the whole graham cracker thing so is there any other suggestions out there?

What about crunchy candy fillings? My cake supply store also has a large variety of candy-making supplies, including candy fillings. There are toffee bits (which you can also buy in the baking aisle at most grocery stores), crunchy pieces, and chopped nuts.

Hi BJsGRL: do you go to that place in muskegon? If so, do they have good stuff there?

WOW-that white almond bark sounds like a great idea! Maybe crushed wintergreen lifesavers (might make the cake taste weird) or dry MMF-crumbled up.

You know I thought of something else...I saw once where someone had let BC dry out then they chopped it up corsely with a knife. I guess they must have spread out a thin layer and let it crust up pretty good. I am not exactly sure how it worked but it looked good for "fish tank gravel"

I know at one time they had white Nerds candy, and they look like gravel pellets already. I'm not sure if the white ones were a one time thing though.

Merissa - Yes! Piece A Cake on Glade, across from Meijer - Joan has a lot of stuff there, all reasonably priced. If you haven't checked her store out, stop by. She is open Tues.-Fri from 10am-6pm, and Saturday from 9am until 1 pm.

Someone on here suggested grating MMF with a cheese grater when asked about moss, I was going to do the same for gravel myself.
