Butter cream or a Whipped Topping type?

I think I'm going to use fresh strawberries in the filling too.

Yes I'm guessing it will be messy. LOL, just for family.

I think it would depend on whatever you personally like better because I think both would work well. Do you want it light and fluffy (whipped topping) or heavier and sweeter (BC)? Depends on what you are aiming for...

Personally I would go light and fluffy to not compete with your neopolitan cake flavors and strawberry filling. HTH

I'm so clueless on what goes well together. I didn't know ALL these choices even existed till I found cakecentral...LOVE IT.

I think I'll go with lighter!

Any opinions on what type of whip cream? Do you frost with the whipping cream?

You will need something more stable than just "whipped cream" to frost with. A lot of people like this recipe - it is a little lighter than regular 'old buttercream.
