I need a little advice on what to include in an ad. Here's the thing, one of my friends asked me if I wanted to place an ad for youth event that they will host next month. They have several size ads to choose from to include in their vendor booklet that will be given to all guests.

I'm thinking of choosing the half page add especially since there will be at least 150 guests there. Might I add that I will be making a cake for this event as well.

So if you only had a limit of 100 text for an add, what you would put? I was thinking of adding my business name, slogan, my contact number and name. I'm not sure what else I should add.

Any suggestions????

KISS

Keep it simple = successful.

so yep, all biz info, slogan, etc.

then -- a photo -- at least on - or a montage of 2-3 cakes.

even in B/W this will work. -- just be sure to use photos that have high contrast backgrounds, that are very clear and sharp.

pictures sell

also, consider buying a 1/2 page ad that runs vertically -- more eye arresting due to its unique shape -- and since it will most likely parallel text -- will be noticed more as well.

remember -- if you have say in layout -- eye travels across page in a "Z" pattern. so text top left/bottom right photo in middle.
