should i make a list of ingredients to accompany my cakes when they go to the benifit auction saturday?? This will be my first time donating and I am not real sure about it. I would hate for someone to win one of them and end up being allergic to something in it. Any advice there???

Normally when people eat cake they know what type of ingredients would be in it. You can ask the auction committee if that is necessary! It's a good thought though!

ooooohhhh. I'm someone who is terrified of allergies! I would post a list of ingredients just to be safe. I agree with your thinking.

I've tried to tell myself that if someone has an allergy to anything food related, they should be asking what's in something before eating it. But I would still feel responsible to some extent if they had a reaction.

nuts, chocolate, fruits and gluten <sp> are the worst food allergies so deff ppost if these are present in your cake or were prepared where they could have come into contact with any of these things.

I agree with 2sdae, definitely put a little label on the donated items re: gluten, nuts, chocolate, and dairy- I also agree that most people with allergies (and I am one of them) are very good about asking what is in things before eating them- if there is a label on the item then there is no question about the ingredients. . Someone who might have an allergy that normally wouldn't purchase the item because the ingredients are unknown, might find that they are indeed able to purchase your treat. I never buy anything without checking a label first.

good Luck.
