Strawberry Cheesecake Cake?

I am wanting to do a strawberry cheesecake flavored cake but I have tried using the cheesecake pudding with my cake batter and I just don't really taste the cheesecake. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to intensify the cheesecake flavor? thanks all - you all are great icon_smile.gif

Just an idea... can you flavor the frosting to add intensity? What if you used a really good cream cheese frosting with a strawberry filling?

try adding some Lorann Cheesecake flavoring to the batter.....just a little, those flavorings are potent!

I would love to add the flavoring to it but where can I get it? if i have to order it I don't think I can get it in time the cake is for this saturday

i haven't tried this but i was going to do this and here is my plan
use the cake mix extender with a white cake mix, strawberry or cheesecake pudding, cream cheese instead of sour cream and maybe a bit of strawberry jam stirred in..do you think this would work?

I use the cream cheese cake recipe posted by Gegon in the recipe section. It's excellent. You could add chopped fresh strawberries to the batter.
