My son is teething and OMG. He slept more when he was a new born and I've tried everything (Oragel, Infant Motrin and Tylenol, teething rings, holistic teething tablets and frozen wet wash clothes). He has 6 other teeth and I don't know why it's so bad this time. I fyou are a wise mommy and have so advise PLEASE HELP. ![]()
How old is he? Do you know what tooth he's getting?! If he's getting his upper cuspids (I call them the pointy teeth), those seem to be the worst. For whatever reason, those are the most painful. My son (18 months) is teething right now and has been mean and crabby. This is my 3rd child so I've learned to roll with the punches. I use oragel and tylenol. That's the best I've found. But it doesn't always cut the pain. I give my little guy popsicles and that seems to ease some of the pain. I don't have a miracle cure (sorry), but just do what you can to ease the pain. This stage won't last long (no comfort right now, I know). And know you're not alone...we're dealing with it in our home, too! Jodie
I gave all my kids Gerber's biter biscuits. They are incredibly messy, but they were also the only things that kept them happy.
look out then the pointy teeth were the worst for me too! I used oragel as best I could until my little fart starting biting me when I was putting it in...I just tried to keep up with the tylenol and sometimes gave him those mesh feeders you get at the baby store...I would put an ice cube in it....he would get drippy all over him but he loved it (sort of the new aged version of what my mom did---washrag with ice in it for us to chew on).

a link to what I am talking about in case you are not familiar
My friend gave her babies beef jerky when they were teething.
This may sound really strange but when the kids in my family were teething we were given green onions to chew on. I obviously dont remember it but I looked online and onion is a natural cure for toothaches and teething so if you think your baby could handle chewing on a green onion it may help. Good luck with what ever you use and I hope the little guy is feeling better soon.
You could try this ....take a good clean wash cloth, soak it in apple juice....ring it out, tie a knot in the middle of it and then put it in the freezer till frozen, it will not freeze hard like water does.....place it 1st. in his mouth then his hands. It saids,.... you will see almost immediate results. I haven't try this my kids are pushing near their 30's, but if I would seen this when they were teething, I would have tried it. My daughter in law with have to try this with my grand daughter who has just started cutting her teeth.
Hope this helps,
God Bless you & your son,
Sharon
