I was thinking of offering to the folks in my office, sort of a "cake of the month" thing. Each month I would feature a different cake/filling combo for sale - nothing fancy, just say an 8" round with basic icing/decorations - just to drum up some extra business and maybe generate more orders. Might even do this with cookies too. Orders would be taken by the 3rd week of the prior month. Cakes would be priced according to type (something like pina colada cake would be a bit more pricey).

Do any of you think this is a workable idea thumbs_up.gifthumbsdown.gif ; have any of you ever done something like this before?

I thinks it's a great idea! I have a list of ideas for marketing that I am working on and I think I might use this if you don't mind.

Good luck!

Please, use this idea and let me know how it turns out for you. I am away on vacation next week, but after that will work on this little "promotion" for myself. Let's see, that will only give me one week in July to take orders.........maybe I shouldn't start til August for September cakes. This should also help me with controlling holiday orders as in not getting alot at once and spacing them out a bit. icon_rolleyes.gif

make sure you check with your bosses - some places don't allow employees to sell things at the office. It does sound like a good plan, I wish there were more than 4 people in my office.
