This is my first big cake order. It's for 70 people for a 21st birthday. The father ordered the cake for his daughter. Her fave colour is lilac and she's a girly girl. The bottom cake is 40 cm(15.74") x 30cm (11.81") x 10cm(3.93"). Will that be enough for 70 people? Also, please let me know if the cake looks tacky rather than girlish. I am so nervous about this one I can't stop shaking. icon_cry.gif

OK, I can't seem to attach anything. I've just tried twice and have no idea why it won't let me. The pic is in my gallery, it's the 21st Cake(obviously). I've put ribbon roses on two of the edges, and then roses and black ribbon around one edge. Not too sure if you can see it. I wish I knew how to make the "Add an Attachment" work.

If you are saying that you have a 16", 12", and 6", I'd say that would feed about 110 people easy. There is a serving guide somewhere on this site. You might want to look that up.

Do you have a picture?

Sorry everyone, I can't make the attachments work. It's the 21st cake in my gallery.

The dimensions are of the cake on the bottom Length x width x height.

You shouldn't be nervous, it does look girly!
you should be able to just click the 'add an attachment' and browse to find the pic you are adding

I tried adding the attachments. I clicked on browse, selected the file, then clicked on Add Attachment. It seemed to go through the process but when I viewed the message it wasn't there. Oh well, I'm not going to worry about that for now. I'm too nervous about this cake. To top it off, I finished it a day early so I have to wait a whole day before I even know what he thinks of it.

I think the cake looks terrific and very girly. Love the flowers by the way. thumbs_up.gif
Now I think you should take a deep breath and calm down a bit you sound really stressed, and you've done such a great job. The cake sounds yummy too.
Let us know what they say when they get the cake but there's no way they'd be disappointed.
Sorry I can't help with the attachment problem I can't do it either icon_wink.gif

Thanks you all so much for your kind words. I guess I won't be able to calm my nerves until tomorrow when he sees it. By the way, I only made the ribbon roses, the other brilliant ones are store bought. icon_redface.gif

I'll let you know what he says. The reason why I'm so nervous, on top of this being my first cake, is that I work with this guy and he was going to pay me a day early and I said, just pay me when you see it. His reply to me was "Oh you'll know if I don't like it", with a heavy emphasis on the "know". So, I'll see what he says and let you know.

Thanks jules06. The guy came in ot pick it up and he wasn't happy because of his daughter's boyfriend. Apparantely he doesn't even want to go to his daughter's 21st because the boyfriend is going to be there. I tried talking him out of it so hopefully he will go. But I think he's pretty much down about everything. He seems a little happier now. He's just picked the cake up so hopefully it gets there in one piece and everyone likes it. I know it tastes good but I'm just praying that everyone will like the look of it too.
