I see plenty of ads in "modern baking" magazine for various pre-whipped ready to use icings. how do i get my hands on some in Wisconsin? does it save that much time? is it cost effective? how about quality? i've been making icing from scratch up to now, i thought id try it but i cant find a distributor. icon_cry.gif

Would like to know as well. Bought some once and it just tasted nasty but don't want to give up on the idea - it seems to be very convenient when you have little time on hand.

Sam's Club will sell buckets of Rich's Bettercreme (RTU) or whatever brand of buttercream your warehouse uses.

Here's an example of two online sources for RTU buttercream:

Thank you so much JanH. I was thinking about checking at Sams Club. I've never used premade icings before. I'll give it a try. Thanks to Verina as well for sharing a not so pleasant experience. I hope I find the good stuff. icon_biggrin.gif
