Several people have posted about getting cake dummies from Dallas Foam. I e-mailed them a week ago to get a price quote and also to ask other questions. I have sent them a total of 3 e-mails for different things and they don't seem to reply. Has anyone else had this problem? Are they just really busy and it takes them a while to reply?

I didn't have any problems with them -- but I just ordered directly from their website.

My issue was that they have a minimum $20 order and my little cake dummie order didn't hit that, so I ordered a set for a cake-making friend!

I ordered my dummies from them and the only complaint I had was that they had no way of telling you what the shipping cost would be until after you placed your order.

Fancy, I, too emailed Dallas foam regarding some questions from another thread on here. I attended class with a girl and she said min order was 10.00. I emailed them regarding that, and never received an answer back. I think I will call them and find out.

Charlotte - I would love to hear what they tell you. On their website it says that there is a $25 minimum, so I wonder what amount is true. Also, how much do they charge for shipping? I live in the Dallas area and would be willing to go pick up my order from them instead of paying a ton of money for shipping.

ok..just got off the phone with RACHEL! 1- she was superb. Great customer relations there! 2- the website is being updated and the new minimum order is $10.00!!! If you live near, you can call your order in (preferred method) and yes, you CAN pick it up. They prefer you to call it in so that they can have it ready for you when you arrive.

Here is their 800 number....1-800-275-6177.

Again...the MINIMUM order is $10.00--not $25.00 so everyone...order away...I am!!

Hi, I saw there was this thread on Dallas Foam and I can't help but post to warn others. Funny how different people have different experiances. I just got through turning them in to the BBB of Fort Worth TX. The reason?
As someone mentioned, they don't tell you what sipping will be or even how they ship it. They just charge yur card. My friend/business parter and I counted on about a $10 or so shipping charge and it ended up being way way more!
It took 13 days for me to get my order, and I felt really dispointed at how much the shipping was so I politlety wrote the customer service dept.
Imagine my surprise when I got a response from ERIC calling me STUPID etc, etc.
I then had a nasty call from RACHEL, followed by another e-mail. That's when I decided to turn them in. I then started getting more e-mails an nasty messages form RACHEL on my phone.
I was left
SHOCKED that a company with such horrible business practices tword their customers could saty in business.
Just wanted to warn others I have since found another cheap place to get dummies.
PS.. This all happened in July 2006![/i]

I just looked on the site (again) to make sure I read it right, and it says they will ship fed-ex unless you specify another way. I don't know about shipping costs, but they do specify that they do use fed-ex.

Luvscakes - Sorry you had such a bad experience with Dallas Foam. I have ordered from them and it has been wonderful each time. I think my shipping costs were around $8 and they arrived in a couple days. The big difference could be that I am right outside the Dallas area.

The owner was at convention this year and he was very helpful. He did explain that they were in the process of changing their shipping carrier. So maybe that will help.

I had no problem with them either. My shipping was about $15 but the box was so big that 2 little kids used it for a playhouse.
