Hi ya'll!!!

I am starting my very first whimsy cake today. Although, I work in bakery we do not offer any "out of the ordinary" cakes. I'm trying to change that!

I've printed out the tutorial on here and it'll help me greatly, but any other tips, advice etc... are always welcome and surely needed.

One more thing, we do not use fondant either. I have gumpaste only to work with for decorations. So my covering will be butter/bettercreams.

I do have any color under the rainbow, an airbrush machine and all the tips and gadgets needed. Wish me luck! K'ly ^,,^

ps. I Luvz This Place, it's thecatsmeow<^..^>

you also want to keep an eye on the amount of time you spend on this cake so they can calculate that into their retail price. Im interested to see how it turns out in bettercream or buttercream as it seems to me that its going to be abit awkward placing the tiers on each other with the soft icing. but good luck anyway. cant wait to see it.

Hm, I have done some and you can definately do it in BC.

I would follow the article (thats how I did my first one) and ask here on CC if you run into trouble.

Use a cake circle to cut out the "pocket" of the larger/bottom tier.

Many thanks to all of ya'll. And here it is. I'm not completely unhappy with it all things considered. It is my 1st and no real problems I'm glad to say.

I'm already thinking about another one just smaller and some different designs. I had alot of fun putting this together and look forward to doing many more. Practice, practice icon_smile.gif K'ly

Also, this weekend I put together this flower pot. I have some things to correct with it too. But plan to make many more of these as well.

OOOPPPPSSSS!!!! I'm trying to add my pics and keep getting an error that they are too large. Still working on it and will post as soon as I can.
