I have looked at every topsy turvy cake here, and I am not sure how they stay up. When you make one do you carve it that way, or are there pans you can buy that make them that way. I am some what new at cake decorating. Another thing I would like to know, is what is the right way to use luster dust? I hope someone out there can or will help me. icon_sad.gif

As for luster dust, you can apply it wet or dry using a soft, sable brush. When applied dry, the dust can come off when touched so steam the dusted pieces to set the dust. To apply wet, mix the luster dust with vodka/extract until it is paint consistency (or heavy whipping cream consistency).
