Heres the practice cake I made today for daughters 1st birthday. I've never taken any classes but wanted to start learning to decorate cakes a few months ago to do daughters b-day cake. I'm overall happy with it but it could be better. Please tell me what you think. What can I do to make it better. Any suggestions.

Thanks so much sugarfrosted. Theres no way I could have done this cake without your help.

My first decorated cake was also for my daughter's 1st BD. And the only place you can see it is on the "Post your worst cake" thread, ain't no WAY I was uploading that embarassing disaster to my gallery!

Yours, conversely, is fantastic. I don't understand why you think it "could be better"?! I for one think it's really beautifully done. Look at your borders, and all the intricate piping on all of your shapes. Sheesh, even your lettering is nice. All with no classes?? Bravo!

I think you did a Great Job and should be very proud of yourself.I'm another one that is teaching myself and have learned so much for the people at CC. I still have some cakes to download that I had did last Saturday.

P.S. Could you tell me how you did this cake?

Good Luck & Lots of Wishes,
Stacy
