Ok I live in Montreal and was wondering what exactly is this stores full name is it just called michaels? Is it a hobby store or a cake decorator supply place? I'm trying to see if there is one in Plattsburgh newyork as this is the closest american city to Montreal or if there is one somewhere in Tampa Florida as I hope to be going there in the spring. Any help would be appreciated thanks as I am getting quite jealous that you guys have all these really cool places to shop lol My dh is american and I told him just a few minutes ago that I want to go live in the states lol.

It is just Michaels, it is like Hobby Lobby or JoAnn's, you can find it at www.Michaels.com

Michael's is a hobby and craft store (and a place I could [and have] literally spent hours and hours at a time! Lol).

As far as I know the name is just "Michael's", and I've seen them all over the place so your odds of finding one in the places you mentioned is pretty good..

darcat, visited Montreal on a business trip a few years back and I want to live there! I never ate so well in all my life! I love the cobblestone streets in the older part of Montreal (and the big church/seminary pretty much at the highest point of Montreal)...

Yeah but AC Moore doesn't do online shopping! icon_cry.gif

Luckily I have both here - and they each accept the other's coupons! party.gif

HI darcat,

Ottawa would be the closest to you I think, unless there is one in NY that is closer to you. There are two in ottawa that are close to the HWY, South Keys on Bank street (the store I teach at) and Orleans on Innes. I have had a student drive from just outside of MTL to attend classes.

There are 3 Michaels stores in Ottawa; South Keys, Orleans, and Iris Street.

Thanks everyone thumbs_up.gif I went to the michaels site and WOW lol I can see how someone can spend all day in the actual store. There is one located in Plattsburgh which is only 1 hr away from montreal (closer to me than ottawa) Now I just have to sweet talk my daughter into driving me there lol well it will give me a chance to save so money to exchange so I can shop till I drop lol treating myself to some xmas presents (which I think I deserve) lol for all the lovely treats I can make her and hubby lol icon_smile.gif
