I'm so excited!!! icon_biggrin.gif I just got a new Kitchen-Aid stand mixer for an engagement gift (it's red!)!!!! You can imagine how ecstatic I am!!
Now...I need to know....does anyone have any tips about using it!? I've never used one before, so it will be a nice break for my arm, and if anyone has any little tips or tricks to share it would be great!

I love my kitchenaid too. I know when I took the Wilton Course 1 the instructor told us to put a penny at the bottom of the bowl and then adjust the arm so that your beaters don't touch the bottom of the bowl. It seem to work! Enjoy.

My first Kitchen Aid was red too! That was back in 1991. Now, I'm on my 3rd Kitchen Aid and first Viking. icon_smile.gif

What model and bowl size did you get? Does the head tilt back? Or the bowl raise up and down?

The only tip I can offer is to read the manual and try a few of their recipes so you can see how the mixer works.

Edited to add: Congratulations on your engagement!

Thanks soo much! I just returned from vacation and rushed to see if there were any posts...and just noticed that it's posted twice....not sure why....musta done something!
I'm loving my KA!! It's the Artisan model, with the tilting head. So far I haven't had much to use it for (vacation) but I made meringue for lemon meringue cheesecake and Royal Icing...made my first practice tiara today and it stayed in one piece! yay!!
Now, gotta try that penny/dime trick!
