I am doing a cake for my daughters Kindergarten class. I wanted it to look like the chalkboard, but I'm not sure how to get that green color of the board. Can anyone give me ideas on what to add to the green. Is it as simple as adding some black or blue?

Maybe this can work for you. Ice the cake white, then use fondant that you color a light moss green color. Cut the fondant to fit the top of the cake. You can outline chalkboard with brown fondant (to make a trim).

Then you can write on the chalkboard with white icing. You probaly can even make stick of chalk so when you down writing the fondant chalk peice can be put on the cake, with some other decoration - apple, pencils, a rose or two.

Hope this make sense.

To get that green, you might try adding some black to the green icing to give it the darker hue.
