I am going on vacation soon and have some left over NFSC dough. Can I freeze it or will it go bad? Should I just bake some cookies and freeze them? If so, can I freeze them without icing them and ice them after I thaw them in the future? I really don't have the time to spend making them look nice right now, yet I hate to waste the dough. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Yes, you can freeze cookie dough. I have some NFSC dough in my freezer now as well.

I freeze them at all stages. The dough, baked on sticks unfrosted, and completely decorated.

Thanks! What's the best way to wrap it? Wax paper and then aluminum foil or in an airtight container?

Mine is in waxed paper, then zip lock. I think the more you can wrap, the better it is.

I have 2 batches of unbaked NFSC dough in my freezer right now. I wrap in parchment then in plastic wrap and then place in ziploc freezer bag. That always works for me. When I need some, I just take a big sharp knife, cut off a chunk and put the rest back in the freezer. I like having dough on hand, ready made whenever I feel like baking something.

I always make at least 3 batches when I make NFSC & freeze what I don't need. I put it in a foodsaver vaccumed saved bag but have put it in a freezer bag too. Both work great.

I always make dough ahead of time and freeze. I wrap it in saran wrap and a zip lock bag.
