Hmmm...good question. Maybe when someone orders a cake for the first time, give them a coupon or gift certificate for so much off the next order.

I also will send a cake or cookies to a new business to welcome them with my card attached, especially if it is wedding-related, kitchen store or kid's store (esp. baby clothes). Always leave cards or attached to container.

I will also make "Thank-yous", like dog-shaped cookies when I had my dogs boarded for vacation or the groomers. Things like that will help. Unfortunately, you have to give a few freebies to increase business, but in the long run it is worth it. Hope that helps--Pam

Many of my customers only call me once a year ... for their one child's birthday! I guess it depends on their needs ... really, how often do you throw a shower or retirement party or something? All my customers are from somebody else telling them about me.
