Request For 'playground' Cake- Need Help With Ideas Please..

This is my first post! I've been on the site for several months... learning & absorbing so much... There is such amazing talent & artistry on this site- I love it! Anyhoo... just had to share that... this being my momentous 'first' post and all... ![]()
I have a request for a 5 year old girl's birthday- they are having it at a park & the birthday girl has requested a 'playground' cake... swings, slide, etc. They are having about 20 kids (not sure of total servings yet)- so it will not be a very large cake... and the party is on July 20th.
I have not worked with fondant yet- although I am going to do some practice work with MMF this week... so, if I find that I can work with that well- that would be a definite possibility to use for decorating this playground cake.
I have not done very many 'paid' cakes thus far... I've been decorating for many years but always just for friends, family, etc. I'm trying to hone my techniques & experiment with new mediums to broaden my skillset.
Any & all ideas are welcome... and will be very much appreciated!
Thank you!!!

I would make the swingset and slide etc out of gumpaste. I think it would hold up to the other decorations you might make!
Glad you decided to start posting! Welcome!!!!
Thanks for the reply, Milly... I haven't worked with gumpaste yet- I searched for a recipe here on CC and am going to give it a try!
I really am very new to different mediums & methods- I've been decorating with buttercream since I was 15 yrs old- mostly doing freehand work and 'filling it in'... so, I have a LOT to learn.
Thanks again!
