Ill be doing a large plam tree on a sheet cake in Aug. What is the best way to do the leaves? Thanks

I would cut them from green fondant. Then you can layer them and get a good 3D effect.

I also did my palm tree leaves from the leaf cutter is my Wilton flower kit and green Satin Ice fondant. What i did was cut the green fondant with the leaf cutter, rolled it up a little to elongate the leave and then using a craft knife made slight slices on the each side of the leaf - enough to make a dent but not enough to cut the fondant. I then put the leaves on the flower dryers so that they would have the curves to them. I would do this at least 3-4 days in advance to give the palms enough time to dry so that when you attach them, they do not break so easily.

I'm in the process of making a 3d pineapple and I'm making the leaves out of green fondant also. Not too sure how I will secure them all yet but so far the fondant idea looks the sharpest. Good luck.
