What Gauge Wire

What gauge wire do you normally use for you stems and flowers? Is the wire covered with floral tape or something? Clearly clueless....

Depends on the flower you're going to do. Roses usually take a 20 or 24 gage wire. If you're doing orchids, you'd use a 28 or 30 gage wire, because each petal is wired individually and you need it to be invisible in the petal. The wires I use are covered in white or green paper
