I made this cake for the local fire dept. centennial celebration on Sat. 7-7-07. I was just wondering if it's ok or not. Or should it be put in the disaster album and just be lost to cyberspace n forgotten?
I know the fire dept. liked it but I would like to hear what my peers have to say about it.

I guess the reason I asked the question in the first place is because I loaded it into the galleries and so far have only had two views (both me).
So, I was just wondering if it actually looked ok or not.

Sometimes I think it depends on the time of day when CCer's look at the gallery uploads. I have noticed some of mine don't get much viewing, but you just have to be confident in your work! I looked at your gallery by the way and you do awesome work!

I know sometimes I get a little impatient n all. And sometimes I wonder why post any pics at all. But then when I see the customers reaction, I feel good about what I do. I love decorating.
I dunno, maybe it's that I want to be accepted by this extremely talented group (c.c.).
Mel I took a look at yer album and hun you are the undisputed Queen of "grid" cakes (cakes divided into little squares and each individually decorated) Those take a lot of work!!!!! My hat is off you ya hun!!!!!
It looks terrific! I am sure the fire department loved the cake. How could they not?
You always seem so down about your work. You really shouldnt be because you do wonderful work. I notice when I post pics over a weekend they dont seem to get as many views or comments. Probably because so many other people are posting as well that they get pushed off quickly. Might I suggest waiting until the weekdays when not so many photos are posted if you want more comments and critiques?
I think your fire truck is very nice too. I hope to get to that point some day. I have noticed on here that sometimes you have to have an "out-of-this-world" cake to get noticed. I guess sometimes I feel the same way...why do I post any pics. But I know the people I made them for love them so thats why I love doing this. Its very hard not to feel inferior when I look at the amazing cakes on here.

I know I shouldn't feel down about my work. My customers love it and so does the boss. And if you knew my boss you would understand just what a wonderful compliment that is (LOL).
I just couldn't wait til Monday to post the pics. But then like you say though good things come to those who wait.

I really do appreciate your support. Comments from people "in the know" are important to me.
They are kind of like a barometer to see if I'm headed int he right direction or not.
I know I shouldn't post on the weekend but that's usually the only time I have to post pics.
Absolutely keep this in your album. This cake is in no way a disaster. I just hope the one I have to make in September looks half as good as this one. Weekends to me are the worst time to upload pictures because so many are uploading they don't stay on the home page long enough for many to see. A lot of folks don't have time to check the last uploads to see all the great work displayed each day. I think this happens to us all at times we doubt our work if no one comments.

I do know how you feel though! Seeing all of these incredibly amazing cakes.....and then I post one of mine. 
There are SO MANY people on this web site & sooooooooo many cakes to look at! Sometimes people will miss a few!
But that cake/pic is DEFINITELY a keeper!!

I think sometimes it depends on which gallery you put your pics in also. Like I think baby showers and bridal galleries get a lot of views than some others. So don't be down on yourself, you're great. But hey, it's just little ole me....and you are admired!
I tried to view it and comment but it kept going to error page. glad you posted, I live next door to fire station and am always on look out for fire trucks and stuff so I can make for the guys. They love it. It looks like an antique fire truck they use in parades.
ok 1st of all are you kidding? 2nd of all, that looks so old timey and precious.. almost uncake like! You did wonderful. Don't be so hard on yourself, it is simply amazing! Definitely store it in your keeper pile! It is amazing and should be shown off!
