Mine have done that at times when I tried to put them on a board so i could level them. When you dump it out on your 1st board, just make sure you havve your other one ready and invert it onto your other board so it's top side up. You just have to be quick, otherwise your domed top will make the sides fall and it will naturally split in the middle. Does this make any sensee?? Sorry. I know what I'm saying in my head.

I do two flavors all the time, even with sheet cake, so that people can choose, usually some kind of chocolate and something else.

Since I use box mixes and I have an 11x15 pan that takes two mixes, I just mix up one, put one side of pan on something (usually the cake box to keep it from spreading all across the bottom of the pan) and pour the mix on the lower side. Then mix up the other box, put the pan directly one the counter, and pour it into the other side and bake as usual. It may not end up a perfectly straight line down the middle, but it's close enough and there's always someone who wants a little bit of both so they get the center piece. Just be sure that if you torte or have another layer, the flavors are on top of the same.
