I have heard mixed reviews on Sugarcraft. I don't think that I have personally ordered from them. I have a bride that wants a castle as her cake topper and the one that we found that she liked was from there and I'm nervous about ordering it now.

I have never ordered from them but I have heard this so many times.

I guess I will never know because to many people have complained about them I am not ordering from them.

I think it al depends on what you order maybe, I have ordered from them, but only small items and after comparing same items with other websites, they offered the most reasonable shipping.

i ordered baking cups (like for cupcakes) and a disposable plastic container for cupcakes (4 of them) must weigh about 3 lbs max - including the box they use to ship it in. I live in NY. The shipping total was $28.00 (the cheapest shipping option they had)!!!

Insane.

I ordered luster dusts, tips, a few boards, a mini pan set - at most weighing around 5lbs, if that. My s/h was about $28. I only ordered because I had a gift certificate and it sucked that I had to use a 1/3 of it on shipping.

I shared my story awhile ago about the nightmare that ensued afterwards with their "customer service". Just be careful if you ever order from them.

I like countrykitchensa.com. I've ordered some boards, Americolors, dusts, etc. and paid no more than about $7-$8 for shipping. It depends on the total of your order but it doesn't go up astronomically.

I've heard lots of horror stories about them, customer service and shipping combined. I don't think I'd chance ordering from them due to the fact that they do not have enough employees to properly run their business.

That is a lot!! even with the box that shouldn't cost more than $12 top usps priority mail, probably less using first class, I think that they haven't figured out an accurate shipping calculator.
I have an Ebay store and I always try to combine shipping and make it the most affordable for my costumers.

I have heard mixed reviews also but because I live in Canada and they basically want all my banking info etc...faxed,photocopied...I say... NO WAY!! Why don't they take Paypal then if they are so worried about receiving their money....I won't be ordering anytime soon....

ok guys every time i have ordered from them the shipping is high, i beleive that the only meathod they use is ups which i use at my company to , UPS by far is the most expensive meathod at this time due to the fuel surplus charges. They may not be set up on a automatic system there for weight x length x height on a scale then processing so they are probablly using a standard box meathod ... example box size 1= 28.00 size 2=50.00 ect ect ect. no matter the weight , I have ordered from them with no really customer service problems but i do agree they are overcharging a little. My suggestion would be locate the product your looking for online somewhere else , if you prefer to use sugarcraft email them and give them the information and let them know that you found a better price somewhere else and you would prefer using them and see if they will adjust theres to meet or beat.. Now with that said after reading some horro stories here on CC make sure you know what they are charging!!!!!. good luck

I've never ordered from them and after reading a couple threads on this company, you can bet your boots I never will.
There are companies that love to make extra from their shipping costs and apparently sugarcraft.com is one of them!!!
I always check shipping costs before ordering from anywhere. Stung once ~ NOT again!!!

I live in California and found their shipping and prices reasonable. I bought 12 luster/petal dusts at $1.98 each and the shipping was $7.50. They only asked for my credit card online, I didn't have to call them or fax them anything. In fact they say when you order they are only estimating the shipping charges, but will charge you the actual shipping fees. I don't know if that is true since they charged me the $7.50 they estimated. Having shipped UPS before the price was fair.

FYI my local bake shop sells luster/pearl dusts for $5 and I have seen them for about $3 on most other sites.

I have seen so many terrible things being said about them, but have found them reliable, quick and affordable. Maybe someone should send them a copy of these threads. They obviously have a customer service issue and I'm sure would appreciate the feedback.

I agree i think they should be informed that they have a severe problem and sites like this can majorly effect there business , Hmm you shipping was really cheep i wonder if its the whole east cost that is haveing issues with them. Maybe it is two different cusotmer service reps ???

I have ordered from them several times and agree shipping is VERY high! In fact Iwa looking at ordering some items that are out of stock here and then I got the shipping estimate and decided to wait! The funny thing is It was $17 shipping on a $43 order and I live in Ohio, the same state they are located in!
I will wait and get it from here.

I ordered a 4lb bucket of fondant and a few packs of sugar flowers, shipping was 20.00. I was thrilled with the product and how fast I got my order. But I live in the same state it might be cheaper for me to drive 3 hours to pick it up!

With all of the negative feedback about sugarcraft.com, I just want to add that last week I ordered from www.globalsugarart.com and Scott Clark Woolley (www.cakesbydesign.cc) and they were both WONDERFUL! Great customer service, reasonable shipping, and it only took a few days to receive each order. I would highly recommend using these online stores.

I refuse to order from sugarcraft again! I placed a $33 order and my shipping was over $30!!!! Then they left a message saying that they don't offer the 18x18x7 cake boxes anymore. How am I supposed to deliver large tiers when I can't find boxes for them!! Their shipping fees are crazy! I'm only a state away in IN.

I had the same problem. I wanted to order some cake dummies and other misc stuff. My total was $40 and the shipping was $44! I said forget it. I only live 2 hours away, so DH and I just drove down there. The customer service was not very good in person either. I looked around for the cake dummies for ever and finally had to ask the sales associate behind the counter. She didn't know what I was talking about and had to ask another lady. The other lady looked at me like I was a piece of dirt and said (in a very snooty voice)," We keep those in the backroom." I said, "Um...can I get a few.....?" It was like pulling teeth! Geesh! icon_mad.gif

Hey Perry...have you visited New York Cake Supply on 22nd Street? I think they have everything and more....they could probably get anything you don't see there for you...

I guess I have been real lucky, I order from them all the time, they really have a large selection and have lots of instructions that can be printed on flowers and pearls etc. Shipping to oklahoma is a lot less than the shipping from Wilton.

I haven't had any issues that I had to contact them on though. so maybe I'm just lucky.

i don't order often from them, cause of the shipping costs, but whatever i have ordered from them, has come in quickly and in good shape. I haven't ever had a problem that required me contacting customer service, so i can't comment on that.

I'm with IronBaker on this one. Country Kitchen, www.countrykitchensa.com is one of the best places I've ordered from. They're only a little over an hour from where I live, so if I have a ton of stuff to get, I'll just go pick it up, but they do their shipping based on price. It's very reasonable. It's a very neat store. It's huge and has about anything and everything you could possibly need.

If any of you have been to the actual store, it would be obvious why ordering from them is such a pain.
The store looks like a total junk pit, and the people aren't friendly AT ALL.
There is very little organization and lots of things have a layer of dust on them. BAD,BAD,BAD.
It amazes me that they can ship anything at all, based on their poor organziation of the store.
It's actually sad. They have a huge inventory, and such potiential. The execution is just all wrong.

Sorry to be so negative....but it's true icon_redface.gif

I've been contemplating make a trip to Cinncinnatti becuase they seem to have a huge selection, but after all the negative comments I've heard, I think I'll steer clear. I live right outside of Columbus too...but I'm not going to drive 2 hours to a store where people have that kind of attitude! I'm glad everyone is making their voices heard.
